Local Tax Collections The Regional Income Tax Agency (RITA) administers the city’s local tax collections. Residents can file online with the accurate, secure, and free E-File option on R.I.T.A.’s website or forms can be picked up at Aurora City Hall and the Aurora Memorial Library. Aurora’s income tax rate is 2% of earned income and net profits. If you live in Aurora but work in another city, Aurora provides a 100% tax credit, up to 2%, for taxes paid to the city where you work. Income tax returns are due on April 15 of each year.
Aurora’s income tax laws can be found in the Code of Ordinances chapter 187.
