Movie Night – Toy Story 4
Date: Friday, July 3, 2020
Time: Dusk – 11:00 pm

Cost: Free! However, you must register for this event because SPACES ARE LIMITED. Social Distancing guidelines will be followed. Details below.
Important Event Information:
- Once you register, your spot will be reserved on a first come, first served basis the night of the movie.
- When you arrive at the parking lot, provide the last name on the reservation and the parking attendant will check your name off the list and guide you to a spot in the parking lot.
- Each car is allotted two spots to enforce social distancing.
- Please make sure to keep at least 6 ft. distance between your party and others.
- Masks will be worn by Parks & Recreation individuals.
- A ticket will also be given to each car with directions on how to watch the movie from your FM radio.
“Find Your Happy Pace” – Aurora Virtual 5K
Date: Saturday, July 4 – Saturday, July 11

What is a virtual run?
A virtual run is a race you can run at any location, at your own pace, outside or on a treadmill, alone or with a group of friends or family.
- What will I get with my registration cost?
- Once you register for this event, you will receive a shirt, medal and a link to download a bib within 1-3 business days.
- How long is registration open?
- Registration for this event will close on Wednesday, July 8.
- When can I run the Aurora Virtual 5K?
- For this virtual race, we are recommending participants run/walk anytime between Saturday, July 4 – Saturday, July 11.
- Can I walk this 5K, instead of running?
- Yes, you can run/walk this race with family, friends, or by yourself, but remember to social distance.
- Where do I log my race time?
- Once you finish the virtual race, log back onto the registration site at www.goneforarun.com, locate our virtual race “Find Your Happy Pace” – Aurora Virtual 5K to post your finishing time.
- Will there be a winner for this race?
- Virtual races are meant to create a sense of community and togetherness during this challenging time, so there will not be a designated “winner” for this virtual 5K.
- Can I post finishing pictures somewhere?
- Yes! We are encouraging you to post your finishing pictures in your shirt and medal on Twitter by mentioning @auroraparksrec and on our “Find Your Happy Pace – Aurora Virtual 5K” Events page on Facebook!

“Aurora the Beautiful” - Home Decorating Contest
Date to Submit Photos: Now through Saturday, July 4
Location: Your home!
Important Event Information:
- Aurora residents – decorate your driveway/lawn/home in patriotic themes as possible and send your photos to Jenny Nichols at nicholsj@auroraoh.com to be submitted into the “Aurora the Beautiful” contest!
- Pictures should be submitted via e-mail starting now until the end of the day on Saturday, July 4th.
- All submissions will be reviewed by the Parks & Recreation Department and the Mayor.
- Top 3 will be chosen and announced by Friday, July 10th.
- Winner will receive a $50 Amazon gift card; two runner ups will receive a $25 Amazon Gift card.
“The Hoppin’ Frog” – Video Submissions
Date to Submit Videos: Now through July 4.
Location: Your home!
Important Event Information:
- In lieu of our annual Frog Jumping Contest at our July 4th festival, we are accepting videos of your hoppin’ frog to compile a fun video!
- Starting now until the end of the day, submit your short video of your hoppin’ frog to Jenny Nichols at nicholsj@auroraoh.com.
- Videos to be no longer than 20 second please.
- All submissions will be reviewed by the Parks & Recreation Department.
- Once the video has been completed, it will be posted on our website and sent through the Parks &Recreation Twitter and Facebook pages.
