A residential lock box is a small secured key box that is attached to a door and securely stores a house key for emergency situations. The lock box will only be accessible by the Aurora Fire and Police Departments and will allow emergency personnel to access a residence in an emergency without damaging a door or window. This program began on April 1, 2017.
The program will be offered by the city through the Aurora Fire Department where the lock boxes can be purchased for $30. Once a box is purchased a representative of the Fire Department will contact the resident to schedule installation.
