4TH OF JULY

rainbow

The city celebrated its 220th birthday on the Fourth in grand style with a wonderful parade, a military flyover, a 5k, frog jumping, and fireworks which delivered a real "wow" factor. Grand Marshal Al Connors and his wife, Mary, were honored during the parade awards. Even a late afternoon rainbow over Aurora graced the day. Special guests included Supreme Court Justice Judi French, State Senator John Eklund, and State Representative Diane Grendell. The city also hosted super heroes Wonder Woman and Spider Man, with a well attended Post Road concert preceding the fireworks. It was an all-around spectacular celebration, and special thanks go to the city staff who made it possible.
