A residential lock box is a small secured key box that is attached to a door and securely stores a house key for emergency situations. The lock box will only be accessible by the Aurora Fire and Police Departments and will allow emergency personnel to access a residence in an emergency without damaging a door or window. This program began on April 1, 2017.
The program is offered by the city through the Aurora Fire Department where the lock boxes can be purchased for $30. Once a box is purchased a representative of the Fire Department will contact the resident to schedule installation.
